I love this so much. It brought tears to my eyes. It is so beautiful to refocus on what really matters - where truth and goodness really comes from. So grateful to have the Holy Spirit to nudge us. So grateful for a long-suffering and faithful God. I know I can always be more aware of the plank in my own eye. Thank you Jesus!

I’m glad to read this, Aaron. I’ll admit, I was concerned for you. Know, you’re in good company. Many of us came out the other end of stolen elections, plandemic chaos, and deep societal fraying to realize that our focus is most beneficial focused on growing in the grace and knowledge of God. This earthly life is but a pit stop in our eternal lives, and we can’t let our energy be stolen by things which we cannot affect. We take comfort that the world is exactly where God said it would be as we reach the end of the church age. We live in unprecedented times. Your humility is beautiful.

I can feel the depths of your humanness along with a deep connection to all of the beings and bountiful beauties on our extraordinary planet , gifts from God and Celestial Design. So grateful for this post, Aaron. What’s great about Substack is that it gives people a voice to express themselves in whatever way they choose. We support those that we connect with. I’ve always sensed your devotion to our God and Savior and feel secure enough in your convictions to listen and hopefully learn. I have come to the same conclusion that we are living in prophetic times and if we believe the Bible it is not going to get better. We can argue all day long about what’s right and wrong but what’s wrong has been plainly stated in God’s word from the beginning of time. So what’s a person supposed to do? Fretting and wringing our hands over it does nothing but cause frustration and anxiety. Good moral people in our government can try to make a difference to try to turn the tide but I really think sometimes it’s a hopeless cause. We know the end of the story and as a Christian I’m relieved there is an escape plan for the body of Christ. So what is a person to do? What I am leaning on is remembering

Philippians 4:19.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

In doing so we can’t go wrong and check out this guy. He makes me smile because he reminds me of the powerful truth of just being the Life that’s IN you. That’s all we are expected to do. Carry on🙏

I am so grateful that you were able to see things from an eternal perspective again. I sympathize with your anger, as I vacillate between that and knowing that God is on the throne and there is nothing more important than living a life that shares His light and love with our world. May He bless you as you walk with Him and you continue to bless us with your gifts.

On IG I kept up with politics and started gaining a following before moving over here to Substack where I write mostly about primary doctrine. But recently I’ve veered off into secondary issues, mostly Christian liberalism and liberation theology, and I really connected with what you wrote— this was a great re direction for me, thank you.

But something I’d genuinely be interested in knowing— and maybe you’ll write about this— is is there a framework you like for how Christians should engage with the world/ politics?

I’m learning about neo-Calvinism, two kingdoms, and even Augustinian Realism and Catholic integralism (although I’m not a Roman Catholic). I want to cast a vision, but I’m at a loss for language. I’d love to know your thoughts!
