Cometh the AI Winter

Good morning everybody. Aaron is out on his adventures today, so I’m covering this morning’s news. True to form, we’re talking AI…again. But there’s a lot that needs to be covered.

Let’s start with the fact that President Trump has obviously been bought out - perhaps not literally, but he has certainly been wooed by the Big Tech companies he once hated. The president, presumably convinced that AI will bring an “economic boom” despite massive impending job losses, signed an executive order on Wednesday that aims to incorporate artificial intelligence into America’s classrooms.

“The basic idea of this executive order is to ensure that we properly train the workforce of the future by ensuring that school children, young Americans, are adequately trained in AI tools, so that they can be competitive in the economy years from now into the future, as AI becomes a bigger and bigger deal,” said Will Scharf, White House staff secretary.
