Besides the News, 12/20/24

Good morning subscribers! Today is the last Friday before Christmas. It’s the last festive weekend before the big day, and the countdown to the first two miserable non-festive, cold winter months begins. Can you tell it’s the British counterpart writing the intro this morning? We do have a habit of being a bit doom-and-gloom about everything, but I do hate January and February. Winter is only fun because of Christmas, when we have every excuse in the world to enjoy a little more sherry, a little more food, and a little more time with friends and family.
