Here's another. Teach them to play poker. In poker, it's not necessarily what you have that counts, it's what your opponents think you have: life lesson.

I would add "Fighting" Bob LaFollette (American progressive), Muhammed Ali, the Frankfurt School, Post Modernism, Dr. MLK's Letter from Birmingham Jail and I Have a Dream, Milton Friedman's "Capitalism and Freedom".

'terrific list. You and your wife did your kids a monumental favor.

Great list Aaron. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and list! Others could certainly be added but where do you stop. Learning is or should be a journey not a destination.

I will be glad to contribute. In a few days. We are in Crested Butte right now. Going snowshoeing up the Mtn shortly. We will be back in Durango tomorrow. I will give it some serious thought and get back with you. Do you have a x lax version of your list you can email me? That would make it easier for comparing ti make sure I don’t duplicate. I have a reading list, a music list and a favorite movies list as well. Perhaps a couple from those lists, particularly my reading list. There are also things from my childhood and teen years, particularly scouting lessons that might augment nicely. For instance, when we were in a beach survival weekend with little gear and no food. I captured and killed a rattlesnake in the dunes, cleaned it and cooked it in a stick over a fire. Had to remove the venom vein an at in itself.
